YPro stands for Young Professional Encounters.Pains, rejections, and childhood trauma often have a negative impact on us reaching our full potential if not dealt with.YPro is a series of sessions run by a group of young professionals that supports young adult professionals between the ages of 18 - 30 in ensuring they have an accurate internal compass and the life skills to not only survive but thrive.We help young single adults deal with the many issues they face at home, with peers, and at work including:
- loneliness
- nurturing relationships
- conflict and forgiveness
- self-esteem
- body image
- sexualityThis can happen when we are willing, to be honest with ourselves and open to seeking answers.Here are some excerpts of stories of some young professionals who have attended a previous weekend:‘What happened for me during YPro? I dug deep into my past, unearthed unspoken wounds, and put a microscope on some areas and events of my life. Many of these were shared for the first time. And I'm glad it was to a loving supportive honest group who truly listened and tried to see my heart. By the end of the weekend, I felt more connected. More known. I went home feeling raw yet free, vulnerable yet secure. Mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and relationally, I was healthier than I’d been in a while -- or maybe healthier than I’d ever been.’ - Vicky‘Whereas I thought I was quite open and preferred heart-to-heart conversations with my friends, I realized that through all my existing interactions, I was still living in a comfort bubble of my own. I was prone to holding up the front I wanted others to see and unwilling to really probe the real genuine challenges that others around me were going through. I left the weekend knowing that everyone has stories of their own, challenges that I am completely oblivious to, but challenges that they are struggling with nonetheless.’ - Youmin‘After I had organized my thoughts, I was given the opportunity to share them with the group by voicing out these ‘things’. These friends helped me to understand myself more, to experience acceptance and feel support, which was liberating. It also showed me another facet of friendship and community – that when we choose to be real and honest, when friends choose to have a non-judgemental, seek-to-understand attitude, deep and meaningful friendship grows.’ - Belinda‘I have felt a prerequisite to present myself as ‘Good’ and having everything together. I know that this is not always the case and it makes me feel like a fake. God had been challenging me in this space and to lead a more vulnerable life that lets people in. YPro provided a safe place where I allowed others to see in beyond the veil of who I was into the inner man.
